Who Wins, Who Loses- and Who Pays- When You Get Sick?

If 2020 taught us anything… it’s that no one can predict the future, and that “anything can happen” is certainly tempting fate 😆

In light of that, what do you think: is thinking about possible contingencies a pleasant way to pass the time? The difference between those who say “yes” and those who shout “no” is: preparation.

If you are prepared for contingencies, you say, Yes! I can handle a tire blowout- I have an emergency fund and a AAA card in my glovebox. I have a plan in case XYZ happens 👍

For those of us who think, contingencies are the worst- is it because we are truly terrified of the possibility happening? Or are we more upset that we are unprepared for the unexpected? 🤷

No one can be prepared for everything; but it’s worth planning for some of the more common negative life events. Just because we are unprepared- just because we stick our fingers in our ears and say lalalalala- doesn’t mean that those nasty life events will steer clear of us! 😖

I cannot help you cover every life event; nor can any plan prepare for every life event. And that is because truth is stranger than fiction; at some point, the ridiculous situations we meet in life strain even the most robust imaginations 😳

However, basic contingency planning is the basis for the best peace of mind that life has to offer. The sorts of contingencies I can’t help you with are terrible bosses, bad relationships, rude neighbors, etc. But I can help you think about contingencies regarding major life events, so let’s dig in:

Tough question of the day: what would your life look like if - Heaven forbid!- you/your partner/your kid suffered cancer/heart attack/stroke/major auto accident? 😥

Most people are going to say one of two things: either “Well, looks like I’m moving back in with Mom & Dad” or “the kids”; or “I’ve got some retirement savings, and health insurance, I’d be fine.” It is great to have those options (until you hit retirement age, of course- then you’ll be missing those retirement savings, huh?)

But what if… what if those weren’t your *only* options? What if you had Living Benefits? 🤔

Living Benefits means you can certainly still lean on family/friends in case of the unexpected… but you also access hundreds of thousands of dollars- in cash, lump-sum, and tax-free- to use for treatment; paying the rent/mortgage while you recover; anything you need, in your time of need 👩🏼‍⚕️🚗🏠👩🍎

That kind of thing must be expensive, right? Costs hundreds a month? It’s only for people who have great credit, high incomes, and who, I dunno, eat kale? No one likes kale, btw, and- side note- I personally am not willing to do so in order to get Living Benefits 😆

Good news is, you don’t have to eat kale or be perfect in order to get Living Benefits! I was able to get a friend $500k of coverage… for less than $35/month. Wow! Way more affordable than you thought, but he must be young and really fit, right? Let’s take the average American, then: a 45-year-old woman in average health, carrying 20 lbs extra, is still going to pay only $91/month for the exact same coverage.

Let that sink in: Is paying $91 a month a worthy expense, to have $500,000 in your back pocket when you and your family really need it?

With that kind of safety net, you will know that Living Benefits has got your back, every day of your life. You will know that your hard-earned savings will never get sucked away by life’s unexpected curveballs.

Make 2021 your year of “Peace of Mind” 😌
